We're coming out of our shells this April with this, the first of our April Fundraising Spectaculars. In conjunction with the amazing folk at Metamorphosis and Outrageous Decadence, we're planning to bring you a superb fun-filled evening whilst raising money for our voluntary organisation and the SARA LEE TRUST (a local cancer charity).
We've hired out the first floor of the Royal Victoria Hotel this Good Friday for an evening of showing off and general fabulousness. Expect to see lots of outrageous and extravagant costumes (with prizes for the best dressed) + a screening of the film that sparked this event: THE BRITISH GUIDE TO SHOWING OFF + DJs, musicians, partying and more. So if you've ever wanted the chance to reveal your inner god/goddess/tranny then this is the event for you!

Andrew Logan is creator of the anarchic and utterly outrageous Alternative Miss World Show, a spectacular costume pageant and fancy dress party for grown ups.
THE BRITISH GUIDE TO SHOWING OFF takes us under Logan’s glittering wing to take a joyous look at this most quirky and exotic subculture event and it features contributions from Brian Eno, Ruby Wax, fashionista Zandra Rhodes (who designed all of Andrew’s hostess costumes), Richard O’Brien, Nick Rhodes and Grayson Perry. Filmed over five years, charting the mounting of the 2009 Show, bringing to life its history through newly discovered archive, exuberant animation, and plenty of offbeat humour from contestants old and new.
Raucous, liberating and sexually charged, The British Guide to Showing Off speaks to the outsider in all of us. For anyone who has ever wanted to break out.
