Recently we attended an inspirational address on song-writing and creativity given by Martyn Joseph at the Bournemouth Folk Festival. We are now delighted to announce we will be hosting a similar talk on the afternoon of his TwickFolk gig, Sunday May 20th.
Places are strictly limited as it will be an intimate and unplugged event followed by a question and answer session. Everyone is welcome and will be able to draw creative inspiration from this presentation. Novice and experienced writers alike…and also those who have as yet never considered themselves potential writers.
Martyn will present his talk "Why I Write" which will help to illuminate just that. He'll talk about the ideology behind his song-writing and give some insight into what inspires him and will explain why he believes passionately that there is a writer inside us all and help you discover the artist within.
NB there is a separate discounted ticket for both events (afternoon presentation and evening concert).
The video below is an example of the sort of thing we can expect. Martyn performs a 3 and a half minute Springsteen song and then spends 7 minutes analysing the components that make it great.
