Stars In Battledress, Richard and James Larcombe, make unique and
beautiful music with two voices, piano and electric guitar. Their songs
float sweet soaring vocal melodies above a knot of intertwined notes and
chords, an unpredictable cascade of small pretty events. It's gentle,
complicated and very English. At this show they'll be playing songs from
their album "Secrets And Signals" and material from the follow-up which
they've been messing about with for thirteen years.

Flaps Collin sings and plays keyboards. After 15 years writing and performing with Psych-Popsters The Henry Road ("Mad, Original and Really Rather Brilliant" - Rolling Stone Magazine) and nearly as many years writing and recording with Pip's Convict Benefactor, Flaps is branching out as a solo artist. Classic Prog magazine described his voice as a bit like that of Pye Hastings (out of Caravan) and various people have compared his keyboard style with Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman. These comparisons are not entirely accurate. His voice is more like a wolf singing jazz standards through a satin snood. His keyboard style is like that of a crab that has just discovered chromaticism for the first time and is desperate to share it with the other crustaceans.
