Fieldview has a very simple philosophy. Everyone has the power to have a positive impact in every action and decision they take. Fieldview uses this idea to run the festival as sensibly and positively as our budget will allow.
All our musicians and performers come from the UK, therefore meaning that we dont fly anyone in to perform. There would be no point in having any green measures if we flew all our artists in from around the world. We primarily aim to support local music, but for us it comes down simply to whether the music takes our breath away. If it does, then we will love you to come and play.
For those who arent lucky enough to be invited to play, bring your instrument anyways, play at the open mic or join the camp fire jams and sing a longs. We source all foods and equipment from local businesses, therefore investing in our local community. The festival is created by volunteers and all profits go to charity. This creates a very open event where everyone is giving their time not for financial benefits but because they believe in the event and its quality. Dont drive here, take the bus, it stops at the festival.
In 2010 we introduced our amazing handbuilt compostable toilets, recreating the posh loo vibe but without the massive transport miles, water, chemical use and spiraling costs.
We aim to introduce our audience to new and exciting musicians, artists, performers, foods and forms of lifestyle. From recycling workshops, to bicycled powered cinemas, Fieldview aims to show there are alternatives to the environmental costs of imported oil from overseas.
And for people who dont believe in any of the above, Fieldview is a beautiful space for like minded individuals to smile, relax, dance and have fun!
