THE GREAT INDOORS III

The Winter Olympics' annual celebration of bands, beer and burgers returns to the Windmill for its third great year. This year's event comes just one day before the 'other' Olympics' closing ceremony, so expect sports-themed fancy dress, international superstars and (probably) Paul McCartney doing Hey bloody Jude on the roof.

As always The Great Indoors boasts a diverse line-up of the band's best friends and favourite bands, an all-night micro-rave in the Windmill's back room, a belly-busting free BBQ and all the fun of a festival from the comfort of your favourite pub.

This first names for this year's festival are

FRANZ NICOLAY (US)
Maverick multi-instrumentalist Franz Nicolay has been a member of cabaret-punk circus World/Inferno Friendship Society the world's best bar band The Hold Steady never-mind-the-Balkans rabble rousers Guignol and founded the outlaw orchestra Anti-Social Music. He has played with everyone from Leftover Crack to Bruce Springsteen and has long been a Windmill and Winter Olympics' favourite. His lion-hearted love songs, theatrical stage show and magnificent moustache are completely unforgettable.

THE WINTER OLYMPICS
Your humble hosts bring their no-budget arena rock show back to the Windmill for the first time since filming this amazing video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyG-h6YzPYo) there. They will be premiering songs from their patiently-awaited debut album, 'Profit and Loss' alongside a few very special surprises

"The entire rock and roll dream in three and half minutes" - Jon Kennedy, XFM

MÖTLEY KÜNST
The UK's only all-girl Mötley Crüe tribute band; Mötley Künst are a riotous explosion of high art, short-skirts, and glorious kick-ass rock and roll. They are at least twenty times better than the real thing.

"Stripped-down Runaways rock with suitable quantities of take-no-shit-ness" - Nemesis to Go

NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE
In their own words, NDE, "aren't going to be the next big thing, didn't go to Brit School and have never employed a stylist". Further, "they will not be spending our money on a PR agent to tell you how great we are". I'll do it for them, then. They're great, and make a magnificent spit-and-sawdust soul-punk racket.

MUNCIE GIRLS
Angelic Exeter upstarts The Muncie Girls are a glorious punk-pop rush. Their song writing displays a maturity way beyond their back-achingly youthful years and a Buzzcock-ian way with a killer chorus.

THE PINEAPPLE CHUNKS (SCO)
Formed "in 1985 as a Huey Lewis and the News tribute act" The Pineapple Chunks are Edinburgh's trippiest band, fusing wigged-out 70s psychedelia with a shambling art-school sensibility and a deliciously sarcastic Malkmus-esque delivery.

BOMBERS
Birmingham-based Bombers are the West Midlands' best new band. Their sturm und drang death disco rightly being likened to "The Birthday Party running riot in Joy Division's and Swans back garden; at night, whilst it's a bit chilly and possibly on bonfire night" - Artocker

FALLING STACKS
Pedal-hopping Bristol-based noiseniks Falling Stacks return to The Great Indoors with a new line up, "three guys, one guitar, one bass, one drum kit, some distortion" and now several songs on the excellent Howling Owl record label.
