Yarde / Hayhurst / Prévost
This line-up – Jason Yarde (alto and soprano saxophones), Oli Hayhurst (double bass) and Eddie Prévost (drums) – features in the third volume of a CD series entitled 'Meetings with Remarkable Saxophonists' – to be released later this year.

In some ways, paradoxically, Yarde/Hayhurst/Prévost is the most controversial ensemble in this series. It places the meta-musical exchange outside of (for want of a better term) 'the expected personnel'.

Jason Yarde and Oli Hayhurst are recognisably of the 'jazz' milieu. Eddie Prévost is not.

This band crosses genres and even generational boundaries. It moves to develop language and meaning in the process of making music. And, nobody, who thinks art is generative can legitimately believe in artistic conservatism. Stasis and art are not compatible.
