BASHIYRA
Having performed backing vocals for music industry heavyweights such as Patti Labelle, Michael Bolton, Diana Ross and Queen, multiple award winner and Independent singer, songwriter, producer and arranger BASHIYRA brings a wealth of captivating artistry to the industry.

Bashiyra has enjoyed Top 10 success and was approached and engaged as a songwriter by the production and song-writing team 'Gamble and Huff', the US based producers for the likes of Stephanie Mills.

In 2005 came recognition for Bashiyra's substantial contribution to music at 'The Festival of Black Female Voices', Hackney Empire, London, where she won the award for 'Aspiring Black Female Singer'. Two years later 'The Game', was released and charted at No#1 in The Mix Bags Review and Charts which was co-written by Bashiyra on The Jalapeno label produced by one of Belgium's hottest DJ's 'Kid Crème'

Summer 2009 saw the unexpected death of musical genius Michael Jackson. In the weeks that followed Bashiyra was approached to headline in the very first tribute concert to celebrate the life and works of the 'King of Pop' at The O2, Greenwich, London, England.

One year on, Bashiyra's catalogue and work ethic is recognised by the legendary Herb Middleton responsible for production for the likes of Teddy Pendergrass, Biggie Smalls, Faith Evans, NAS, Phyllis Hyman, Usher and Mary J Blige, to name a few, who signs her to his USA based NuVybe Record label.

Production has commenced on a number of projects including Bashiyra's eagerly anticipated sophomore album project, which sees her writing with Richard Rudolph, the husband of the late great Minnie Ripperton, with production credits also extended to Peter Moore (LA Reid) and talented newcomer Amar Naik (UK). Team Bashiyra vow to make chart breaking hits for 2012 and beyond.

Bashiyra is the recipient of 'The Nina Simone Award 2011', in acknowledgement of her contribution to jazz music, as well as being awarded 'The Soul Baby Live Award 2011' in April 2012 in recognition of her soul music repertoire.

The current self-released debut album 'Thought You Knew' is an eclectic blend fusion of neo-soul, jazz and a twist of dance and will show Bashiyra's natural ability to adapt to a change of style with effortless poise and diction.

Peter is a member of Rhythmica and has two compositions 'Solace' and 'Anthem' on their debut album. He tours with Abram Wilson's Quartet and accompanies and arranges for vocalists Nicola Emmanuelle and Zara McFarlane, and recently worked with poet Lemn Sissay and double bassist Gary Crosby on 'Population' which was performed at the Southbank Centre in Summer 2010. Peter is the musical director of the newly formed Tomorrow's Warriors Jazz Orchestra and recreated Duke Ellington's masterpiece 'The Queen's Suite'.
