This talented concertina player, songwriter and singer comes from New York’s Brooklyn, and brings with him a wealth of traditional and vintage American songs and tunes. His joyful, energetic and distinctive style of playing makes his concertina a ‘band in a box’ with complex bass lines, syncopated rhythms and internal voices. His singing tells American stories that are hilarious, gritty and true – stories of train wrecks and wrecked marriages, death row convicts and lonesome lovers, heroes, losers, swaggering braggarts, lazy slackers and slapstick fools. Jody’s warm and engaging presentation endears him to his audiences, and if you want to join in on the choruses, he’ll be delighted.
