Event information

Catherine Feeny:

Touring to support her fourth solo album 'America', American folk singer Catherine Feeny is known for her incisive lyrics and mellifluous voice.

A bold and haunting statement about a nation on a precipice, "America" deftly juxtaposes the fragile beauty of hope with the menace of arrogance and corruption.

Following her participation in and consequent arrest at the Occupy Wall Street demonstration this past fall, Feeny's new material has a political fire and a progressive rhythmic sensibility that stand in contrast to her earlier work. See this compelling performer -- who has shared the stage with Suzanne Vega, Martha Wainwright, Dr. John and Wilco -- play live.

Laish:

Laish, indie folk heroes featuring the finest that the Willkommen Collective of Brighton has to offer. Green's voice is like no other, from a deep and warm brogue to a soaring falsetto. Frayed around the edges but rich in emotion. Emma Gatrill and Martha Rose provide the angelic voices and organic instrumentation of violin, clarinet and accordion; and Patrick Lawrence and Dan Harding lay down a solid rhythm foundation of bass and drums.

Steven Finn:

Described as "one of the best young acoustic guitar players on two legs", Steven Finn was number one in the UK Blues chart in Summer of 2010 having had his debut album picked up by the great John Peel's producer, Louise Kattenhorn.

From the driving rhythm of his national guitar picking to the raw energy of his explosive harp, Steven Finn has since been electrifying audiences across the UK and Europe.

"In this modern world it's not often you find songs so deeply cultivated in the folk and roots tradition. Timeless, yet completely relevant, these are songs you want to listen to again and again" (Bristol folk house)
