We’ve been a fan of Nairobi since we heard an early demo called “Autumn”, if such a genre existed they’d be indie-afrobeat, clearly influenced by the sounds of central Africa but bringing an Oxford stamp to it. They’ve been together a couple of years but continue to grow and develop. Guaranteed to get you moving, swaying and dancing - the perfect start to your weekend. Empty White Circles
Empty White Circles are a six piece Oxford-based Indie/Folk band. We heard their first demo (Adventures) and were hooked by their Bon Iver style; their second tune (Waking Up) shows a more folky sound and demonstrates their versatility, bringing more of a Bright Eyes style sound to the table. They’ve already toured Germany and have huge potential, so get up close and personal at the Port, which is sure to be a perfect venue for their sound.

Matt Midgley
Matt Midgley is a Scottish musician, singer and songwriter currently based in Oxfordshire, working on his second album. He plays a guitar like a drum and sings alcohol-soaked songs of lost love and regrets. His live performance is packed with emotion and we think at times he sounds like Ben Howard, and at others a little like Jose Gonzales or Nick Drake.
