We're very excited to welcome back the wonderful Emma Gatrill with support from the brilliant Inti Rowland and all the way from Ireland The Ghandis!
EMMA GATRILL
Emma is an unstoppable and multi-instrumental collaborator. As well as being a full time musician with the multi-tentacled psych-folk behemoth Sons of Noel and Adrian and getting crowds dancing to the rowdy stamp-along anthems of The Mariner’s Children, she has found time to lend her voice, clarinet or accordion skills to everyone from Laura Marling to Broken Social Scene.
No wonder then that it has taken her so long to get round to concentrate on her own music. Chapter One showcases poignant songs based around her latest acquisition – the harp. Subtly accompanied by various members of Brighton’s Willkommen Collective, her intricate harp playing and powerful vocals soars above her classic songwriting, which owes a debt to Bjork and Joni Mitchell as well as her friends and co-conspirators Rachael Dadd and Alessi’s Ark.
With her debut shows under her belt – a standout performance at the prestigious Willkommen Foxtrot festival, supporting Rachael Dadd on her recent European tour and now Sons of Noel and Adrian UK Tour, Emma is finally ready to give the world her own music. And it is completely worth the wait.
INTI ROWLAND
Inti Rowland is a 19 year old London based singer/songwriter.
His debut release (April 2011) was ‘The Ballad Of The Ballroom Ghost’ recorded in a dis-used 18th century church in London.
His second release (Jan 2012) ‘Eyes Of A Starling’ was recorded in a barn in the Welsh mountainside forests, during a three day stint in November 2011.
He is currently touring alongside violinist/singer Megan Jenkins.
Full band shows include cellists Sam Rowe and Evie O’Driscoll.
THE GHANDIS
The Gandhis have a unique style and panache in creating a simple yet immediately infectious melody - something that you can sing along to as if you've known it all your life. Throw in a neat brass section; some wonderfully arranged harmonies, and a collection of delightfully sunny guitar riffs, and you have one of the most enjoyable Irish pop acts currently doing the rounds. Comprised of band members: Niall Cullen - Bass and Vocal, Conor Deasy - Lead Guitar and Vocal, Aidan McKelvey - Guitar and Vocal, Bazz O'Reilly - Drums and Vocal.
From National appearances on the likes of RTE’s “Saturday Night With Miriam” and “The Cafe”, the band have been busy touring and working on their 2nd album over the past few months. Having developed a strong reputation for their energetic live shows, The Gandhis have received notable acclaim and have been described as: “A sweet delight….some of the catchiest pop tunes you’re likely to hear all year” Evening Herald, “a great night out is always guaranteed at their gigs” News Of The World.
