The Word House is a diverse and high-quality spoken word night based in the heart of East London.

It showcases some of the finest talent on the UK’s live literature scene and offers Open Mic slots for anybody who wants to share their work.

Back for Autumn, three exceptional featured poets, resident host Dan Simpson and original music mixed by DJ Able.

// DIZRAELI
“Fluent, witty and arresting” says The Times. Dizraeli is an international performer and BBC Radio 4 Poetry Slam winner. Fusing folk and hip hop, he writes moving and invigorating stories of riots, atheism and Englishness, uncovering the murkiest corners of British culture.

// MALIKA BOOKER
Poet in Residence at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Malika Booker is a pioneering and creative force on the live literature scene. Concerned with identity, responsibility and accountability, her work is widely celebrated by artistic institutions.

// ANNA FREEMAN
Multi slam-winning poet Anna Freeman has performed at festivals and venues across the UK. Her work is by turns hilarious and touching: a fusion of comedy and tender neurosis, with perhaps just a hint of wrongness.
