A superb and exciting exploration of the music of the greatest of all Venetian masters of the baroque. Dazzling virtuosity mixes with sublime slow movements in an atmospheric evocation of the most beautiful city on earth and its profound influence on music.
The programme includes triosonatas by Vivaldi and his illustrious Venetian contemporary Baldassare Galuppi, contrasted with one of Vivaldi's sublime sonatas for cello and music influenced by Vivaldi composed by Marcello and J. S. Bach.
