The Slow Show's dynamic, warm, beautiful organic sound is Americana folk-rock with cinematic arrangements and northern colliery brass touches.
Drawing on a diverse range of musical inspiration you can hear influences from classic artists like Neil Young, Tom Waits & Bob Dylan but also fellow Northern bands such as Elbow (who they recently supported) and I Am Kloot echoing through out their music.
Their critically acclaimed debut EP Midnight Waltz displays their carefully crafted musicianship and lush melodic songwriting. The diverse instrumentation, in particular the use of a colliery type brass band sound, adds an extra dimension to their music.
Their second EP 'Brother', released in May 2012, displays more of their inventive instrumentation and touching songwriting. Following rave reviews the EP was picked up by many UK and European radio stations. The songs 'Brother' and 'God only Knows' were championed by Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and many others. The band appeared live on Radio 2's Dermot O'Leary Show and Radio 4's Loose Ends.
With a female vocalist recently added to their line-up they've added yet more to their colourful and varied sound, whilst quickly building an excellent reputation for their live shows where they are joined by their brass section.
The Slow Show are the kind of band that stop you in your tracks and make you listen.
