Tertium Quid & Irregular Folk present...
A Special Night Of Acoustic Music

Jess Hall
Jess is one of the most underrated singer/songwriters in Oxford, with a delicate and emotive voice over perfectly balanced arrangements that are always personal but not clichéd. Jess also recently lent her vocal talents to local bands Flights Of Helios & Grudle Bay.

Her sound is welcoming, wistful and engaging, and tonight to make it extra special she will be accompanied by Barney Morse-Brown - Half of Duotone, and Oxford premier cello-wielding polymath - and James Cunning - who has appeared in more alt-folk bands that you could shake a knitted jumper at, including We Aeronauts, Cat Matador, The Cooling Pearls, The Keyboard Choir, and is currently touring with Richard Walters - will be playing accordion to round off the ensemble.

Ags Connolly
Ags is a young man from Witney who it turns out - as unlikely as it sounds - is Oxfordshire's more sensitive answer to Johnny Cash and the other great gravel-voiced troubadours of the deep south. His songs are powerful and and solid as rock but still feel like a gentle forest meander.

Erica Conway
Erica is a Northern Irish singer/songwriter and actress in her fourth year a Queen's College. Another on the long list of talented locally based singer/songwriters, Erica stands out from the crowd with a much more classic sound. Every note evokes the 60s US folk revival sound beautifully; from Joni to Neil they're all there and rounded brilliantly into modern and poignant folk-pop. She's opened for Brendan Benson, and if that isn't high enough praise, I don't know what is.

To make this a particularly special and intimate event the team behind the excellent Irregular Folk events at The Cellar are going to help us dress the space and turn The Port Mahon into a beautiful (faux-) candle lit musical space, perfect for an enchanting, special evening of acoustic music.

Tickets are £5
Doors are 8pm.
