Redlands Palomino Company
The Redlands Palomino Company is a UK country rock band, described by The Guardian newspaper as 'Alt-country heroes' and BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris as "Exceptional". The Sun newspaper said the band "prove that you don't have to be American to do great country rock".
The band have gained scores of devoted fans in the UK and beyond over the last 10 years - thanks in part to their trademark harmonies, their often riotous live shows, and enthusiastic support and radio play from a range of DJs. They have made countless festival appearances in the UK and abroad over the last few years and have toured extensively with a wide range of Americana artists including: Richmond Fontaine, The Sadies, Peter Bruntnell, The Rockingbirds, Tift Merritt and The Deadstring Brothers.
The band released two critically acclaimed albums 'By the time you hear this...' (2004) and 'Take Me Home' (2007) and the EP 'She Is Yours' (2008) on Laughing Outlaw Records. In 2011 they signed with Clubhouse Records and release their third album 'Don't Fade'.
Leeroy Stagger Band
Born in Victoria, British Columbia and raised on a little island on the very west coast of Canada, Leeroy Stagger spent most of his youth with his grandparents who exposed him to the world of country music. Developing his musical drive early on, Stagger formed his first punk rock band at age 18. Songwriting came shortly after with themes revolving around his childhood, traveling, relationships, substance abuse and the tribulations of life.
Stagger released his 7th studio album “Radiant Land” last year. Recorded in just 3 days during a break in the band’s 2011 U.S. tour at famed Nashville studio Club Roar, he continues to prove he is one of Canada’s most prolific and talented songwriters.
Over the years, Leeroy Stagger has shared the stage with plenty of talented musicians, including The Pixies, Los Lobos, Tegan and Sara, Ron Sexsmith, Joel Plaskett and George Thorogood and his songs have received placement on the hit TV shows Greys Anatomy, Sons Of Anarchy, Degrassi and Heartland. He has garnered an international fan base after relentless touring both home and abroad.
Case Hardin
Case Hardin take their name from the female lead in Boston Teran's noir thriller 'God Is A Bullet' (Pan 2000). In the finest tradition of naming groups, it came about by virtue of being the book that band- leader and songwriter Pete Gow was reading when the call came through that they had secured their first gig; necessity was, once again, the mother of invention on that day.
Over the years the band has toughened its core, toughened its sound and toughed it out through musicians who came and went, to stand a little bruised, battered in places, but tall, presiding over three self-released EPs and two stunning full length albums.
It seems Case Hardin is all about the story and the telling of that story. Gow's writing now carries the weight of critical praise ('aching lyrical genius', 'one of our foremost storytelling songwriters') but in concert his songs also carry the power of a band continually in the service of those songs.
Troubadour Rose.
This stunning double A-side ‘Labour of Love/Find an Arrow’ arrives as the debut release from the greatly anticipated and sumptuous Troubadour Rose. Mixed by multi award winning producer John Haddon and instantly plucked by Film London for their feature film ‘Strawberry Fields’ this is a single release that shows the tip of an almighty iceberg of an album that Troubadour Rose have waiting up their sleeve.
Troubadour Rose met in London, November 2009. They comprise violin Lutheran Gary Bridgewood, banjo and mandolin player Lizzy O’Connor and songstress Bryony Afferson. Their sound is a heady concoction of Afferson’s powerful vocals, her youth filled with Fleetwood Mac and PJ Harvey records, O’Connor’s background is steeped in Irish Trad’ sessions and now wields Banjo and Mandolin hooks to stunning effect. Kaleidoscopic fiddle player Bridgewood adds an exuberant and wild edge to the mix.
The three expertly spin a thrilling mix of Smokey mountain harmonies, Irish Sessions and bold sumptuous melodies that leave you set for the unraveling and longing for more. Afferson and O’Connor’s impeccable harmonies have led them to work with the likes of U.N.K.L.E and landed them a place on Noel Gallagher’s 2nd High Flying Birds album produced by Amorphous Androgynous, to be released next year.
