Grey Lantern is excited to bring you the album launch for 'Wreaths', the brilliant debut album by former Working For A Nuclear Free City guitarist Gary McClure. Released through the legendary Edwyn Collins' own label AED Records, 'Wreaths' is a far cry from the schizophrenic stylistic wanderings of Gary's old band. Instead, he focuses on creating lush, emotive atmospheres, that act as a warm backdrop for his subtle melodies and reflective songwriting. His live band includes DBH, Trojan Horse drummer Guy Crawford and old WFANFC band mate Phil Kay.

Supporting is Douga, the solo venture-cum-full band project of former Plank! drummer Jonny Winbolt-Lewis. Douga's rich mix of warm psychedelia, Americana and more European experimental influences has so far spread itself across two EPs, Shadows And Aberrations and Mono Aware, while live it transforms to become an immersive exercise in release from repetition - subsequently picking up attention from BBC 6music's GIdeon Coe, among others.

Opening up is Tekla. A shy, withdrawn figure among the Manchester music scene, there is scarce information about her online, her reputation instead built on word-of-mouth praise from those witness to her rare live shows, which are structured around an captivatingly aerial vocal and acoustic melodies stripped down to the roots. An absolute must to get down early for.
