Selby Town Hall's annual Battle of the Bands competition for young musicians has become something of an institution. Now in its ninth year, the event has seen some truly astonishing performances from some of the finest talent the area has to offer.The shows are always packed and are a great opportunity for budding stars to perform in a professional environment in front of a fanatical home town crowd made up entirely of their peers.
The gigs are open to anyone under the age of 20. They are alcohol free and staffed by youth workers and security guards. Tickets are just £2.50 and every audience member has the opportunity to vote for their favourite act at the end of the night and help them to win the coveted prize.
The winner of the grand final will perform a paid slot at the town's annual Family Fun Day outdoor concert on June 16th and also receives a days recording at Selby College
