Nordic Giants have spent the last couple of years bringing their own formula of claustrophobic post-rock cinema to a selection of unusual locations across the country; from disused Victorian music halls to converted seaside bandstands (with a few more ‘standard’ venues thrown in for good measure). Dressed in feathers and shrouded in a ubiquitous fog the pair look more like residents of Middle Earth than of Brighton. Cloaked in a shadowy darkness they play to a backdrop of short films, soundtracking them with atmospheric soundscapes of ghostly bowed guitar, rousing piano and crescendos of thunderous drums, perfectly appropriating the action on screen.
Anyone who has seen them before will know what to expect; a selection of experimental and more narrative based short films (mainly featuring some element of death); inventive multi-screen visuals; seizure-inducing strobes and two huge birdmonsters armed with a sonic arsenal capable of making a sound like Sigur Ros standing on the edge of the world.
