Evening Hymns is the project of Jonas Bonnetta, a musician/artist/sawyer who grew up in the countryside not too far from Orono, Ontario, Canada.
'Spectral Dusk', covers very personal issues, and takes Evening Hymns to the next level, musically and lyrically, from their acclaimed debut record 'Spirit Guides' (2009). A study of loss, pain, and hope and a pathway drawn out of the dark into the light, Spectral Dusk finds Jonas Bonnetta dealing, through music, with the loss of his father three years ago. This record spills its guts out on the floor, and yet so softly it leaves the listener no option but to reflect on their own mortality. An album as dense as it is spatial, Spectral Dusk moves from droning bliss (Irving Lake Access Road) into anthemic chants (Cabin In The Burn). A record to be experienced more than listened to. An environment to exist in for an hour. A small retreat from the world.
Recorded in a log cabin in Northern Ontario with the band's closest friends, it features members of The Wooden Sky, Timber Timbre, and more. The band have performed at Pop Montreal, NXNE, Rolling Stone Festival, as well as a 2 month tour of Europe with Agnes Obel and Timber Timbre in late 2011.

In late 2009, after a number of years of crossing paths in the Glasgow music scene, singer/multi-instrumentalist/visual artist Hanna Tuulikki and guitarist/singer Ben Reynolds finally sat down and wrote a song together. Subsequently they wrote many more and put together a group of musicians to develop their compositions in the direction of their many musical passions - from traditional folk (rock) to rock n roll to psychedelia to soul and beyond. Thus was Two Wings born.
Glasgow has always been fertile ground for those seeking to synthesise traditional/popular musical forms with a more progressive approach, and Hanna and Ben have long been travellers on this path. Hanna's experimental song-based project Nalle was described by Wire Magazine as "easily some of the most convincing free-folk the UK has ever produced". She was also a member of free form jazz folk ensemble Scatter and the Family Elan. Ben has been a solo artist for many years and his numerous releases include the 2009 solo guitar album How Day Earnt Its Night, released by New York's Tompkins Square Records. Ben was also guitarist in critically acclaimed Glasgow folk-rockers Trembling Bells and has collaborated with a number of other musicians including Glasgow's Alasdair Roberts and Tin Angel Records' Baby Dee.
Two Wings' line-up is completed by instrument builder and bass guitarist Kenny Wilson, singer Lucy Duncombe and drummer Owen Curtis Williams (Wood Pigeon, Eagleowl, Rob St John, Benni Hemm Hemm). With the help of these amazing musicians, Two Wings has become so much more than that initial song-writing collaboration and is moving in directions never envisaged at its inception!
