Event information

Local music blog Rose Coloured is launching its first ever gig night
“Rose Coloured presents.. Love Live Music” at Guildford’s Boileroom on Saturday 29th June. With its goal of supporting and showcasing grassroots bands in the area, the gig will feature local headline act Freeze the Atlantic from Farnborough and three other up and coming bands from around the region; Guildford’s The Timing plus twothirtytwo and Parachute for Gordo from Aldershot all of whom have featured on the blogs’ 'Local Radar' reviews since its inception last summer.

Headliners Freeze The Atlantic are an exciting new British rock band formed by members of Hundred Reasons and Reuben, who released their eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Speakeasy’ through Alcopop! Records in September '12 to widespread acclaim.
“'Speakeasy' is brimming over with infectious hooks and riffs it’d take a riot squad to stop. Get a napkin; you’ll be drooling for more.” (8/10)- Rock Sound

The band have blown away crowds at prestigious UK festivals such as 2000 Trees, Y-Not, amongst others. With shows supporting bands such as Funeral For A Friend under their collective belts this year and their own headline UK tour in May, Freeze The Atlantic are quickly establishing themselves as one of Britain’s' most exciting live acts.

"Brilliant”– Kerrang!

The Twothirtytwo may be influenced by Joy Division amongst others, but truly unique and energetic live performances have set them apart. They will bring their post-punk, post-hardcore sound to the Boileroom and are guaranteed to make everyone in the room take notice. The Timing will be flying the flag for Guildford at this celebration of music in the area; expect epic tracks packed with anthemic choruses and big riffs from this female-fronted indie-punk band.

Kicking off the night will be the blissfully noisy post-rock trio Parachute for Gordo. Their first release, a mini album called ‘Eight Minutes of Weightlessness’ and a number gigs across the region, including a recent support slot in their home town for band-of-the-moment The 1975 have quickly established them on the local scene as must-see band.

At the heart of everything Rose Coloured does is sharing great music that might not get much coverage elsewhere. As well as local bands, the website features some of the best unsigned and lesser-known acts from across the country. As an independent blog, Rose Coloured is only interested in good music, getting it heard and spreading the word around. Encouraging interaction between bands and their fans and with other local music blogs, welcoming guest reviewers and gig photo submissions for the site. With our motto of 'Love New Music' Rose Coloured strive to help ensure a vibrant and viable local music scene for everyone to enjoy.
