It's with great excitement and an overwhelming sense of pride that we welcome Fuzz Club Records' Danish garage-psych duo, The Wands to play the cozy-wozy surrounds for The Castle Hotel along with label mates - and one of Manchester's most underrated and prolific groups - The Underground Youth for an evening of shimmering melody and droned out beats.

The Danish psych duo, The Wands was formed in december 2011 by childhood friends, Christian Skibdal and Mads Gras. Bursting out of a creative community in Copenhagen, they played their first show in a dark living room in a house belonging to their friends, The Woken Trees. In august 2012 they got picked up by Norwegian Fuzz Club Records on which their 5-track debut ep 10", Hello I Know The Blow You Grow Is Magic was released on November 3rd, 2012.

The release was celebrated with a sold out show in the freetown of Christiania, that kick-started a 13-show tour that took the young danes to London, Berlin and the biggest cities in Denmark.

The sound descends from early 60's psychedelia but touches on different genres. The duo always appear live with more musicians on stage and their shows have a great element of improvisation. The atmosphere is raw, yet full of colours as heavy drones and rumbling fuzz-guitars clash with catchy, light melodies, and playful psychedelic guitar-bling all topped with a distinctive Danish accent.
