Music Director : Mark Fitz-Gerald
Charlie Chaplin : The Circus
Our last silent film performances (in 2012) were a complete sell-out and provoked an immediate demand for another one! Charlie Chaplin was the genius of this genre. For The Circus, he wrote his own plot and script, directed the film, played the leading role, sang the opening title (which we will use just for the opening credits), played the cello (left-handed!) at the end, and composed all his own music. The music alone combines great slapstick comedy with sentimental moments which sound like Puccini and is a treat not to be missed.
Please note that this is the MATINEE PERFORMANCE.
