Event information

Yes! Time to return to a venue with one of the best ceilings I've ever seen to play a full band show with support from some extremely talented friends of mine; Boss Caine & Joby Hardwick. I'll be playing a heap of newish stuff as well as all those old toe-tapping classics. It'd be lovely if you came to see what my songs sound like when they're a fraction louder...

As this is a bit of a Yorkshire invasion you can buy tickets here for a minibus travelling from Dewsbury Railway Station, Wellington Rd, Dewsbury WF13 1HF at 18:30 taking you right to the door of the venue and picking you up outside the venue to return at 22:25 - in time for the last trains home to Leeds/Huddersfield all being well! This way you don't have to worry about looping around Manchester's one way system 15 times in a Morris Minor...

Hope to see some of you there! It'll be right good, honest.

"When I heard Jasmine Kennedy for the first time it was one of those rare moments where everything had to stop while I listened. There is a simple honesty about the voice and the songs. I am not often struck by a quality I cannot readily describe." - Sam Saunders, LMS.

Jasmine Kennedy is an acoustic singer/songwriter who sings from the heart; her lyrics a collection of throw away observations and bittersweet tales from the teenage heart which possess a remarkable power to stun an audience in to silence. At the age of 16 her debut album 'I Don't Have An Uncle Pat' was self-released and since then she has toured the UK and shared stages with the likes of Seasick Steve, Joseph Arthur & RM Hubbert, as well as performing at a number of festivals including Live at Leeds and Bingley Music Live. All whilst preparing material for a second album and maintaining a loyal devotion to Coronation Street. Potentially the next Tracy Chapman, this young musician has immense talent and an endearing charm.

"Stunning UK talent!!...Really Something!!" - Bob Harris BBC Radio 2

"Certainly amongst the best of the British takes on American roots music" - FlyinShoes.ning.com

"Tom Waits singing Ryan Adams if they had both had the good fortune to grow up in Yorkshire" - The Fly

Boss Caine are a folk/americana collective from York, England.

Formed around the songs and music of singer-songwriter Daniel Lucas (aka GT Turbo) they release their debut album on Little Num Num Music in March 2010. The album, entitled 'The Ship That Sailed' contains a selection of tunes written by Lucas over the last few years. A time that saw him leave his home town for London, before returning to York and putting together the revolving line-up of local musicians that would become Boss Caine. Years of hard living, hard drinking and love turned sour inform an album that is for the large part acoustic and at times visits some quite dark places, but is ultimately carried along by a healthy dose of Northern positivity and stoicism.

Joby Hardwick

Joby was born and raised in Yorkshire (just like really good bread). He has been writing for five years.

"Joby exudes tenderness in a new acoustic flavoured way. Dead beautiful singer-songwriter, gorgeous melodies and sensuous vocals. Definitely one for the ladies."

"As usual, beautiful songs, sung with the heart of a poet."
