Underline The Sky- very perky female fronted pop rock emo melange, done exceedingly well , big radio friendly choons-sounding strangely like The Cranberries gone punk pop metal. Sukh- Manchester based singer songwriter influenced by the likes of Dylan, Sigur Ros, and The National. Matchstick People- Slightly folky alt rock with an abrasive edgy feel... actually sounds a bit like the Cure in places but with female vocals, it's yer later period Cure though post Lovecats. Nicely meandering songs allowing the lead guitar to fly, interesting work. Paper Cages- inspiration from Feeder as much as Snow Patrol what with the ir habit of knocking out a bit of rocking romp , see also Manics, only with squelching nu rave synth action. Simon Foster- doing the singer songer thing fitfully only in an indie rocking post Velvets/Edwin Collins mode..
