Aisha Orazbayeva presents a programme of music from her forthcoming series of recitals for the Radio France Montpellier Festival alongside her ongoing collaboration with cellist Lucy Railton.
The duo has recently come back from their tour of Denmark and are currently working on a material for their upcoming release in 2014.

Musician Aisha Orazbayeva has been described as a “profoundly radical and inventive” violinist (Sound Projector), with “a great talent for playing emotionally and technically demanding music” (Daily Telegraph).
She is gaining international renown for her performances and adventurous programming, with a repertoire ranging from Berio and Nono to Telemann and Mozart.
Her recent album “Outside” is a rich mix of uncompromising contemporary music, electronics, and vocals, including a unique, multi-location recording of Sciarrino’s “Six Caprices” produced with Leo Abrahams, Ravel’s Violin Sonata, and “OUR”, a violin-computer concerto composed with Peter Zinovieff.
Aisha has also worked with Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Helmut Lachenmann, the London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Modern, Pierre Boulez, Peter Eotvos and Sir Colin Davies.
As a soloist she has performed at the Aldeburgh, Klangspuren and Latitude festivals, and venues including Wigmore Hall, King’s Place, Vortex Jazz Club, Café Oto, Zankel and Weill Recital Halls at Carnegie Hall, La Maison de Radio France in Paris, and London’s South Bank.
Aisha has performed live on BBC Radio 3 and 4 and Kazakh National TV. Other performance broadcasts include Radio France, Resonance FM, WQXR New York and ORF Austrian TV.
