22 November 2013, 7.00pm-10.00pm
The Mosaic Rooms is delighted to continue our supper club programme with an introduction to Syrian cuisine hosted by Nada Saleh.
Our supper club series aims to celebrate the cooking and stories that surround food from the diverse Middle Eastern cultures found in London. This evening with Nada Saleh will focus on the aromatic spices and hearty flavours found in Syrian cuisine. With stories, discussions and demonstrations, guests will have the opportunity to learn about and sample the authentic taste of Damascus and Aleppo whilst surrounded by the beautiful and emotive paintings of Syrian artist Lawand in our current exhibition.
Nada Saleh was born in Beirut and has traveled extensively in the Middle East. In addition to being a cookery writer (her first book, The Fragrance of the Earth, was shortlisted for the Andre Simon Cookery Book of the Year award), she is a trained nutritionist and a member of the British Academy of Gastronomes. She is the author of Seductive Flavours of the Levant, New Flavours of the Lebanese Table and Fresh Moroccan. She lives in London and is a resident cook at Books for Cooks in Notting Hill where her cookery demonstrations are always sell-outs.
The event will take place at The Mosaic Rooms in our main exhibition room.
Tickets: £30 (includes three course meal of cold dishes with wine and soft drinks). Limited to 20 people
