Casitas- 1980s pop with funk-soul touches with a fetching electric mandolin (?) throughout, a brittle backbeat and an understated vocal….China Crisis meets Underworld with the post E psychosis excised…catchy, funky bass lines, nice feel. Good and groovy. Advanced Plastics Group- Lovely mix of male and female vocals recalling Japan and OMD… and analogue synths sounds that swing…a bit of Kraftwerk aloofness, some New Order riddims and an expert air of knowing cool. Rosenthal-Brand spanking new Danish band Rosenthal release their debut track ‘Afraid Of Stairs’ this week. Produced by Ole Gundahl Sorensen at Safelandings Studio in Copenhagen, where they have dreamed up these new sound formations together, the band mould a sound which merges indie pop with hints of industrial psych to create something pretty unique.
