To celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth we present what is said to be the finest adaption of any of his work for the big screen. Akira Kurosawa - one of the world's finest film makers - reimagines Macbeth as a samurai in feudal Japan.
A valiant warrior, Taketoki Washizu, encounters a ghostly female spirit who predicts he will rise to power over the current warlord. Urged on by his ambitious wife, he works to fulfill the prophecy and become lord of Spider's Web Castle.
