Secret Destinations

Since forming in 2012, Austrian baroque ensemble Klingzeug has built a reputation for unique and unconventional interpretations of Early Music. Its members are united by a love of chamber music, though they also lead successful careers, performing with such ensembles as Academia Montis Regalis, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Ambronay Baroque Academy, and the European Union Baroque Orchestra.

Klingzeug's first UK tour features a musical expedition across baroque Europe. Rarely-heard works by Matteis, Pandolfi Mealli, Stradella, and Weichenberger will serve as starting-points as Claudia Norz (baroque violin), Anna Tausch (baroque cello) and David Bergmüller (lute) explore national styles of the 17th and 18th centuries.Klingzeug will lead listeners through the similarities and differences of these styles and demonstrate their influences; they will find the hidden lines connecting composers who in their own times were constantly travelling in search of fame, success, and new inspirations.
