John Etheridge is capable of playing anything from straightahead jazz, blues and rock, to Zappa material, and in many respects is the archetypal Vortex performer – virtuosic, witty, jazz-centred but open-eared. Blue Spirits play soul-jazz-type material in a relatively informal groove and with his trademark quick-thinking fluency, John is a great performer with a relaxed and appealing stage manner.
