Country Blues Duo - Rag Mama Rag

We are delighted to welcome back one of Europes finest Country Blues acts, making a return visit to Ruthin and to be our first guest act to perform at our new venue at The Feathers.

Formed in 1991, the English duo RAG MAMA RAG’s repertoire is 20s and 30s Blues based, but extremely varied.

Their two 45 minute sets will include Mississippi Blues, East Coast Ragtime sounds, early White Country tunes, and many other regional styles of the 20s and 30s period, many old favourites you will recognise and sing along to, as well as some original compositions.

The couple play an interesting and wide range of instruments. Ashley on his favourite Henderson Acoustic Guitar, as well as National & Dobro Resonator Bottleneck Guitars, a Weissenborn Acoustic Lap Steel and Ukulele. Deborah provides the backing vocals, Harmonica, Washboard and Percussion.

RAG MAMA RAG create an exceptionally full and hard driving rhythmic sound which is guaranteed to get your feet tapping.

Having toured practically non stop in Europe during the last ten years RAG MAMA RAG have clocked up well over 2000 concerts and have played at many major festivals in France, Belgium and Germany.
