Signed to Dead Oceans, home to Phosphorescent, Bishop Allen and many other irresistible artists, Bowerbirds are an enigmatic three-piece who remind us a lot of Bodies of Water and a little of Bon Iver (yes, we know both just happen to be on related labels; no, we're not on commission from Secretly Canadian).

Accordian, violin, assorted percussion bashed (we imagine) with whatever body part happens not to already be engaged with playing another instrument - and sometimes (we hope) those that are :-) Beloved of Mountain Goats' Jon Darnielle, whose recommendation would be enough for us to book any band (yes, we'd probably humour his love of death metal too).
