A celebration of the centenary of the birth of Olivier Messiaen, a composer who stands alone in the history of music as a totally individual musical voice. Songs by Debussy who influenced him and Canteloube, performed by acclaimed soprano Helen Williams, complement tonight's performance of two of Messiaen's most profoundly spiritual and haunting works.
