Variety and innovation are the ingredients in this superb double-bill, with hardly a walking bass line in sight. Dead Hedge Trio fuse jazz with rock and Afro beats and their latest EP was recorded with John Ellis (Cinematic Orchestra). And to follow, Partikel take to the stage with violinist Benet McLean to explore the soundscapes they create by fusing jazz, rock, and other forms of world music. Truly a special night showcasing what modern jazz is made of today.
