Dorset Youth Jazz Orchestra and Gordon Campbell

Gordon Campbell is regarded as one of this country’s leading trombone players. He is currently Lead Trombone of the BBC Big Band, a position he has held since 1984. Gordon has worked with many of the world’s leading performers including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Barbara Streisand, Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, Shirley Bassey and Robbie Williams to name but a few!
Gordon will be conducting a workshop for Dorset Youth Jazz Orchestra members which will culminate in an exciting evening performance.

The Dorset Youth Jazz Orchestra plays a range of jazz, and covers different styles of the jazz world. The orchestra have an active gigging calendar with a record number of gigs in 2015, including the Bournemouth International Centre, Swing Unlimited Jazz Club, North Haven Yacht Club and Swanage Jazz Festival.
