Blow the Fuse presents another evening in the Tomorrow the Moon IV series. Tonight featuring:
Yazz Ahmend Quartet:
Yazz has played alongside a number of internationally acclaimed jazz musicians, including Toshiko Akiyoshi, Rufus Reid, Laurence Cottle, and Sir John Dankworth.
She has recorded and performed with Radiohead, Jack Penate, the Manic Street Preachers, the Urban Soul Orchestra, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, the London Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Jamaica.
Yazz will be performing a programme of original compositions exploring the music of her Arabic heritage, contrasted with the British jazz from the 1950s which she was introduced to by her grandfather, jazz trumpeter, Terry Brown.
Yazz's Grandfather was a successful jazz trumpet player in the 50's and worked with some of Britain's best jazz musicians of all time - including Tubby Hayes, Ronnie Scott and the original John Dankworth Seven. Yazz picked up the trumpet inspired by the music and stories Terry shared with her.
