A brand new trio brings together three fiercely individual sprits who together exemplify the art of collective improv. saxophonist Ken Vandermark is one of today's key figures in a Chicago avante-garde scene that has for some 50 years stretched the perceptions of jazz. Barry Guy occupies a pivotal role in contemporary European music, as both improviser and radical composer; drummer Mark Sanders is a master of polyrhythmic-into-free playing.
An intriguingly unconventional duet opens, featuring bassist Dave Kane (of Bourne, Davis and Kane) and trumpeter Alex Bonney.
Part of a Birmingham Jazz tour with support from Jazz Services.
