Thee Faction

Thee Faction is a 9-piece Socialist R’n’B band from Reigate.

Biting lyrics in songs that offer solutions (not merely protest), rocking guitars, huge throbbing organ, and a bolshy (but not Bolshevik) horn section. Best served live.

2015 has seen Thee Faction release their 5th album (Reading Writing Revolution); rock the flip out of the Leftfield stage at Glastonbury, the Tolpuddle Festival, the Matchwomen Festival, Le Pub Newport, and Attila the Stockbroker’s Londonwick. The band also hosted a fundraiser for the Jeremy Corbyn leadership campaign at London’s Union Chapel to a full-capacity audience.

Helen Love

If there was a prize for being 'proper' indie, Swansea's Helen Love wouldn't let anyone else get a look-in.
A slew of multi-coloured vinyl singles (their instantly-recognisable sleeves are the perfect visual portrayal of their cut'n'paste disco indie punk) led to the Radio Hits LP Collection.

Always a hit on the UK evening airwaves, their audience constantly outstripped the availability of the limited runs of their singles. Their chart positions therefore never met the potential, but that's never been a problem for a band whose indie credentials have been always respected. This respect extended to such figures as long-term hero Joey Ramone, who invited them to play some shows with him early in their career.

Now signed to Alcopop records Helen Love show no signs of slowing down.

The School

The School are a pop band from Cardiff on Elefant Records. Their debut album 'Loveless Unbeliever' was released in 2010 and produced by Ian Catt (Saint Etienne, The Field Mice).

The album appeared in over 70 'Best of 2010' lists, it was 6Music's Album of the Day, Rough Trade's Album of the Week and Radio Nowhere's Album of the Year. Adam Walton declared it his "favourite Welsh pop album of all time". Molly Ringwald is also a fan.

In 2011 the band were nominated for 'Best International Artist' at the Spanish Independent Music Awards, and performed a live concert on Spanish TV 'Los Conciertos De Radio 3' (TVE).

'Reading Too Much Into Things Like Everything' was released in 2012, produced by David Wrench (Euros Childs, Everything Everything, Alessi's Ark, Bat For Lashes) at Bryn Derwen studios. Dave Rowntree from Blur said he bought it.
