Are you ready to be Distracted?

MITCH BENN & THE DISTRACTIONS (KIRSTY NEWTON and IVAN SHEPPARD) present THE DISTRACTION CLUB, the monthly Musical Comedy showcase that features a line-up of the greatest acts in the genre, from it's newest rising stars to the longest and best-loved names on the circuit. Each month a host of guest acts and a featured Headliner take to the stage delivering the best of their musical and comedic talents, all glued together with performances and collaborations from Mitch, Kirsty and Ivan!

For your entertainment this month:

MITCH BENN
At last! Your host becomes the headliner for once! Fresh from a fantastic and critically acclaimed (especially by Michael McKean!) run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Mitch brings some of his brand new, hilarious and clever songs from the show "Don't Fear The Reaper" to top off our triumphant return in style - with a few top classics featuring Kirsty & Ivan thrown in for good measure! Miss at your peril...

PANICKY TACK
Panicky Tack bring you musical comedy, but not as you (or they) know it. All of the songs are craftily created on the spot! The two-piece London band bring their mind-blowing, side-splitting, toe-tapping act to DC for the first time. All it takes is a little help from the audience's stories and suggestions to inspire anything from freestyle raps to heartfelt love songs to epic ballads. Expect killer grooves, angelic vocal harmonies and clever lyrics interspersed with comedy scenes and hilariously surreal discussions.

JAYDE ADAMS
Best Newcomer-Nominated Jayde has fast become one of the club's favourite acts of the past couple of years - see what new stuff she shares from her Edinburgh award-nominated show "31"... 'Britain's funniest woman comic' (Daily Mail) and 'a fearless force of nature' (Independent, Ireland) brings her wonderful comedic whirlwind back to the Phoenix. We can't wait!

GEORGE RIGDEN
Another brand new act for the club, George has been described as "the result of a genetic mash-up between Mitch Benn and Tim Key, perhaps with a few strands of Ricky Gervais's DNA thrown in...Very Funny Stuff" so he ought to be just what we're looking for. Deliciously dark, great comedic timing and a wonder at crowd-work, we can't wait to see his debut set at DC!

THE UPPER CLASS RAPPER
He's been slinging his plummy vowels and rhymes around since last century - we welcome the original toff with beats (aka Dominic Frisby) to the club for the frst time to see if he can impress our loyal crowd with his topical comedy and posh-boy attitude. Tally-ho!

KIRSTY NEWTON
Fresh from a triumphant debut solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe, Kirsty will furnish the crowd with slightly more polished versions of her party songs!

MATT BLAIR
Club co-founder and one half of comedy Pop/Rock mash-up duo Rayguns Look Real Enough, Matt is our authority on the world of all things geek, expressed each month via the medium of songs and jokes. Opinionated? Yes. Hilarious? Definitely.

IVAN SHEPPARD
With skillz to die for on every instrument conceivable and a voice that could sell a film containing only terrible pop lyrics, what will our chilli-king Ivan bring us this month? Only one way to find out...
