LEARN TO SWING DANCE!

Be inspired by Strictly Come Dancing and learn to Swing Dance with the Cambridge Lindy Hoppers and come and party like it's 1939 at a later event with live music from big band Harmony in Harlem!

Swing is the umbrella name for various dances: the Charleston, the Balboa, Solo Jazz as well as the core staple of swing the Lindy Hop (aka the Jitterbug).

Lindy Hop is a fun and expressive dance which originated in the 1920’s & 30’s. It can be danced at a variety of tempos and energies, making it suitable for people of all ages and walks of life.

Suitable for absolute beginners and please bring a comfortable pair of shoes.

The event is part of the Festivals Big Band Bonanza with a big band workshop in the morning, and a performance from Harmony in Harlem later that day after the dance workshop - an opportunity to practice you new swing dance moves to live music from a top Big Band!
