In a programme of romantic masterpieces for piano, Mark Bebbington contrasts two of Beethoven's most enduringly popular piano sonatas with John Ireland's stunningly evocative depiction of the Channel Islands. To finish his programme, one of Chopin's most inspired and lyrical creations - the Ballade no 1 in G minor op. 23.
