Artists:
& Friends
7.30pm – 8pm
& friends is Simon and Ed, two friends who share a preoccupation with folk music, synthesisers and reality TV. These two friends like to collaborate with other friends, who, while not strictly in & friends, are friendly enough to lend their talents through art, poetry, film and a range of other art forms.
Two fifths of their catalogue is Christmas songs, which is wildly inconvenient for 11 months of the year. They promise they won’t bring their sleigh bells.

Boris a Bono
8.15pm – 8.45pm
Boris a Bono's songs are the soundtrack to a dream that you never want to wake up from, this is music for hibernating. Burrowing his way further into the soundscape that he mapped out on his first EP, the tracks on ‘Epoch’, his new release, are archetypal notes from the underground; an audio-wonderland where electronic pulses, delicate rhythms, hushed vocals and hazy acoustics stream together in Boris a Bono’s free-associative, chimerical consciousness. This is magic realism for the ears, where music and dreaming are folded into a new sonic imaginary.

Swansea Laptop Orchestra
9.45pm – 10.15pm
Swansea Laptop Orchestra use hacked game controllers, laptops, sensors and other bits of tech and non-tech, to create and perform experimental, classical,
electroacoustic and electronic music. Controllers are used to track the performers' gestures and theatrical movements, bringing a unique physicality to electronic music and creating a symbiotic audio-visual experience. “The expressive gestures that they made appeared to influence the sound – whether sweepingly circular, or a mysterious passing, or wringing of hands." Swanlork aim to push the boundaries of performance in electronic music.
Jenn Kirby is a composer, performer, software developer and academic based in Swansea. She holds a PhD in Composition from Trinity College Dublin. Her work ranges from instrumental composition, to electroacoustic, to laptop orchestra and the performance of live electronics, sound art and performance art. Jenn's work explores elements of theatricality, humour and subversion. Jenn works as the Programme Director for Music Performance and Production at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
