For the first time, we welcome the lead singer & songwriter of The Daintees to The Kitchen Garden Café for a solo show, playing songs from throughout his Daintees & solo career.
Martin is an outstanding singer and songwriter, whose career in music now stretches back over thirty years of critical acclaim and relentless touring.
Martin Stephenson was born in Durham, in 1961. He formed The Daintees in his teens with the deliberate intention of showcasing a broad range of musical styles.
Over the two decades since, Stephenson has released a succession of strong self-produced albums from his home in the Highlands of Scotland, including 2013′s CALIFORNIA STAR & the 2015 classic HAUNTED HIGHWAY. 2016 saw the special release of the Daintees’ critically acclaimed 1986 debut BOAT TO BOLIVIA. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of their classic debut album, the band returned to the studio in Stirling and recording the album again in its entirety.
Stephenson has played literally thousands of concerts in thirty-plus years of gigging – and it is a safe bet that there will have been a unique moment in each of them from this engaging and spontaneous live performer.
