Birds of Chicago are the collective centred around Jeremy Lindsey (aka JT Nero) and Allison Russell. Together they reassert the simple notion that beautiful words couple with their music can still tap deep veins of emotion.
The band was formed in 2012, when Nero began writing for his vocal star muse, Russell. Both were accomplished singer songwriters with projects of their own, Nero with JT & The Clouds and Russell with the acclaimed Canadian roots outfit Po'Girl. but together there was an unmistakable chemistry.
In the five years that have followed, Birds of Chicago have developed a fervent following across America, touring for 200 dates a year, sometimes as a four piece band sometimes as a four piece. Now they are back in the UK for a short tour to promote their new album 'Love in Wartime' that is released in April, 2018. Jeremy and Allison will be joined by Deren Ney on guitar, Chris Merrill on bass and Nick Chambers on drums.
Support will come from local Singer Songwriter, Luke Todd. There is a poignant lyricism to Luke's songs. He portrays his thoughts in a way that capture how many of us feel, but rarely find the words to express.
