Featuring ex-member of The Arlenes & The Coal Porters Pat McGarvey with Case Hardin main man Pete Gow, Southern Tenant Folk Union are a new London based six piece folk & bluegrass band that in just two years have developed into one of the most exciting bands recording and performing roots based music in the United Kingdom.
Their brand new second album, ‘Revivals, Rituals & Union Songs’, is as rambunctious as it is infectious; it’s an LP that weaves styles and genres effortlessly whilst the haunting and unique voice of lead singer Oliver Talkes commands attention throughout.
Their exciting live show brings the full all-acoustic sound of banjo, fiddle & lots of harmony gospel-influenced vocals and has picked up excellent reviews in The Irish Times and on Americana-uk.com. Plus they’ve had airplay from BBC Radio 2 (Mark Lamarr & Steve Lamacq), BBC 6 Music (Tom Robinson & Gideon Coe), BBC London (Sean Rowley) plus many other shows in the UK and further afield. Expect uptempo tunes, ballads, laments and more from this unique band of soulful musicians.
