Frontman Al Joshua first imagined ORPHANS & VANDALS two years ago.... he and musical cohort Raven began eighteen months of recruitment; building a 5 strong band of multi-instrumentalists that would combine the classics with popular song, and reach beyond the restrictions of the prevailing musical mainstream.
"There are bands out there whose existence seems to have been preordained. Orphans and Vandals is one of these... an instantly classic sound... The music itself is wondrous: Joshua’s songs of disillusion and defiance spiraling wildly over Raven and Woo’s heartbeat rhythmic tandem. They’re primarily lyrically-driven pieces, but Orphans and Vandals’ vision also incorporates a wide sonic palette that includes violin, viola, musical saw, and harmonium." [CLASH MAGAZINE]
