A mesmerising evening featuring one of the great interpreters of modern popular song in her salute to the legendary Canadian singer, songwriter and poet Leonard Cohen. As an exceptional singer-songwriter herself, Christine Tobin specialises in idiosyncratic, highly musical poetic vignettes with a strong sense of story, so it’s no surprise she weaves such magic with the profound, sensual and mysterious songs of Leonard Cohen

Multi-award winning singer Christine Tobin sings from her highly acclaimed CD ‘A Thousand Kisses Deep\', new arrangements of Cohen songs. Christine has earned a reputation as both a spellbinding interpreter and original writer. Here she weaves her magic with the poetic genius of Leonard Cohen. Her programme includes new versions of Cohen classics such as \'Famous Blue Raincoat\', \'Tower of Song\' & \'Suzanne\'. In 2013 she won a \'Herald Angel Award\' at the Edinburgh Fringe for this show and in a 5***** star review, the BBC Music Magazine wrote that she had ‘struck gold with this album’. She also won ‘Jazz Vocalist
of the Year’ at the 2014 Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Her stellar band is top UK/US based jazz guitarist Phil Robson & maestro of the double bass Dave Whitford.
