Rab 4 – fabulous psych into neo prog textures with a healthy modicum of Brit rock classique. Great band. The Adrenaline Animals – Snappy punk informed indie rock with a big over-driven guitar sound, which touches on Oasis as does the vocal at times with elements of The Vaccines and Arctic Monkeys but the aggression and kick ass attitude is all their own. Fantastic live band with a must view vim about them, filming tonight for their forthcoming foootball show specials (Ruskies allowing)- watch this space. The Lids – Stomping indie rock rooted in The Blues and Garage rock but with catchy tunes and wide commercial appeal that would sit well on an X playlist a-la Royal Blood or Catfish and the Bottlemen. The Vaulted Skies– spookily rendered electropop with loud rock guitars so quite Numan/Ultravox! – as evinced on very perky single ‘Does Anyone Else Feel Strange’… a very catchy track. ‘Once described as the lovechild of Robert Smith and Boy George, the beard-afflicted, kohl-eyed songwriter James AJ Scott put The Vaulted Skies together to satisfy his urge to fuse edgy alternative pop and rock with danceable electronica.
