Blow the Fuse presents The Electric Landladies for the first time at the iconic Old Granada Cinema on Waltamstow's Hoe Street, now known as Mirth, Marvel and Maud. The original 1930s spacious foyer bar with original décor and seating is all there – and we’ll be playing in ‘Maud’ with the old cinema seats on each side and a lovely big space for dancing. Mainline rail and tube stations are a close walk.
In the past, the cinema played host to legends such as The Beatles, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Little Richard, John Coltrane, The Walker Brothers, The Who, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison! Wow!
Sing along and dance to anthems from Dusty, Pretenders, get down with Beyonce and Stevie Wonder, rock out to Janis Joplin and Free, throw in some disco from the Trammps and Chic and classic 60s soul… it’s going to be a brilliant party!
One of London’s best live party bands, they've appeared at the Forum, the Dome, Rich Mix, main stage at Pride, Spitalfields Festival and the reopening of Stoke Newington Town Hall, where 300 people were turned away. Recent additions Jenny Carr on keyboards and backing vocals – and fabulous new singer Rachael Hunt – means the band are really rocking. Come and join us for the first time in this brilliant venue!
The band are:
Rachael Hunt vocals
Jenny Carr keyboards and backing vocals
Diane McLoughlin saxophone and keyboards
Deirdre Cartwright guitar
Alison Rayner bass and backing vocals
Michele Drees drums
Tickets will be on sale on the door tonight priced at £15
